Start Up Costs To Go Racing

So my 2010 race season has come to and end. It was very successful with two races. One at Mosport in June and the second bonus race in September at Mont Tremblant, but now I can tell you just how much you can expect to spend to build a race car, attend race school and run two races! Now I got very lucky on some key purchases, but its all about the budget. I will say that I spent more on safety equipment which is really the key to a safe happy weekend.
I can summarize you'll want to set aside $15,000.00 to $20,000.00 if you want really want a successful startup season. Ideally I would love to own a truck right away too and run at least 3-4 races, but I'm being realistic. I will only run 2 maybe 3 races a year for the next 5 years while I'm paying a mortgage and raising a family. I did after all get into this hobby way sooner then expected. Cheers and good luck.
