Andrew suggested scoring the top of the thread and using a screw driver to hold the ball joint in place. Success.
  • IMG 2841 Upper and lower ball joints installed.
  • IMG 2842 With locktight. 45ftlbs.
  • IMG 2843 There is the slot for the screw driver. This is a 2 person job btw. Thanks Dad for the help.
  • IMG 2844 Once you get down deep enough the thread stops spinning and you can crank away. Used my 22" long wrench.
  • IMG 2845 So that is done.
  • IMG 2846 Sorted the long bushing issue next.
  • IMG 2847 Drilled out some washers.
  • IMG 2848 Nothing fancy, but it steps the setup nicely.
  • IMG 2849 Nut, cap and drilled washer.
  • IMG 2850 On to the lower control arm. Lots of fun. I hate the fact I need to release the sway bar everytime I work on the suspension.
  • IMG 2851 I will bolt in the shock next session.
  • IMG 2852 Basic idea. Almost done. Learned a lot on this job the right side will go fast. Then onto the back.
