Following the budget racer model. I'm not going to put a cage in my FIAT till after my 2010 season. So off to the Metal Super Store for some plates. Then the cutting began.
  • IMG 0718  x10 3/16" thick 4"x5" flat bar plates. $36.67.
  • IMG 0719  Driver rear. Had to take the wheels off to access the rear plate bolts.

  • IMG 0727  The saw of love. Bought some blades and it did the trick. Welds are crazy to cut through. My arms are still bouncing around.

  • IMG 0732  I will grind the area down. Form the plate and then weld the plate and bar together. Then the plate too the floor.
  • IMG 0733  I will clean all of these. And put a plate in to make it easier to weld upwards.
